Endurance and GT-Specialist Pierre Kaffer is looking confident to the start of this year’s VLN-Season. The test’s with the Audi R8 LMS ultra were driven by Kaffer, Frank Biela and Red-Bull-Extreme sportsman Felix Baumgartner. The prominent Trio will be supported by von Marco Werner at the 24-hour-race on the Nürburgring. At the test and set up drives before the Start of the VLN-Season 2014 the team is consequently working at the exact set up of the Audi R8 LMS ultra. The till now less experienced race driver Felix Baumgartner (known as “man from space”) is making great progress behind the wheel of the GT3-car.
Pierre Kaffer: "This was a great test. Not only the results on the time monitor were remarkable, also the drivability of the car and the impressive learning aptitude of Felix. No one can expect that an extreme sportsman, can learn in only 3 month what we motorsport pro’s learned in many years of experience. But still: His progress is astounding! Felix is very analytical and systematic and highly professional, he is driving confident and quick. For me personally it is simply great to be back in the “Audi-Family”. I have a great bond with Audi. There are fond memories with my team mate Frank Biela. We won in 2004 in Sebring and in the same year we two had to manage to drive the 24hr of Le Mans: something like that you’ll never forget.
The teamwork with Marc Klöppel and the team from TKL Motorsport, who support our car at the Nordschleife, is working perfectly. When I look at the great Start of the new Race year with the Audi R8 LMS ultra, then I am sure that something big will happen. To say it short: Its running!"
