Pierre Kaffer didn't have much luck at the height of the season’s race at the long distance race at the Nürburgring (VLN). The sympathetic free choice Swiss, who was booked at short notice for the stints in the Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3 of Car Collection Motorsport, didn't get to the finish line in Saturdays 6 -hour-race at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
Pierre Kaffer: "Our drop out was very unfortunate. We were good in the training sessions. I was driving the first stint, had a solidly speed, but didn't get very far. After a short while the petrol pressure was down. At the rise after the stretch Kesselchen the engine went out-that was that. Unfortunately the hard work of the team was in vain. I have to get over this disappointment very quickly. I am looking forward to the next WEC-race in Brazil. In Interlagos we will rough up the LMP2-class."
